Makeup Forever Spanks the Competition With a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Collection

Makeup Forever Spanks the Competition With a 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Collection

Leading up to the much-anticipated Valentine's Eve premiere of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, Makeup Forever will launch a capsule collection inspired by E.L. James's erotic fan fic novel. The covertly kinky collection actually comes across more as a sweet, chaste and early-Christian Grey-era Anastasia Steele. But, of course, there are suggestive names for each set and the packaging includes smooth and silky rope ties, and an ornate lock and key motif (wink, wink). The "Desire Me" blush set features a flushed, rosy palette and the "Tease Me" lip trio offers soft and pouty pink hues, which, of course, are long-wearing and super pigmented. (Because, you know, you don't want any smudging going on if you're in Jamie Dornan's sex cave somewhere.) The comprehensive "Give In To Me" collection — in a glossy, mirrored lock box — boasts a neutral-hued eye-shadow quad, eyeliner and lip colors. For even more synergy with "Fifty Shades of Grey," the Makeup Forever collection will offer beauty advice from Victoria Down, the beauty guru from the movie, via tips included with the product packaging, plus online tutorials, according to WWD. A spokesperson for Makeup Forever declined to say whether the collection was done in partnership with Universal Studios. Prices range from $32 for "Tease Me" to $79 for "Give In To Me." The limited edition collection will launch on December 26, exclusively in Sephora stores and at Sephora.com. According to WWD's "industry sources," the capsule collection is estimated to ring in $5 million retail sales. How's that for dominance? Click through the gallery below to see the full collection:
